App: Phone Caller: Contacts, Dialer
Effective date: September 16, 2026
This document sets out how the developer of Phone Caller: Contacts, Dialer ("we", "us", "our") treats information that arises when you use the application (the "App"). The App is a caller and dialer tool: it lets you ring and answer numbers, keep your contacts tidy, look back over your calls, recognise an incoming caller, and shut out numbers you do not want to take. Installing the App, or carrying on using it, means you accept what follows. If any of it does not suit you, please do not install it.
1. Data the App Touches
Within the limits of the permissions you allow, the App deals with four groups of data:
- Contacts. The names and numbers already on your handset, used to fill your contact list and to put a name to an incoming number.
- Call records. Entries from the handset call log and the numbers you dial or receive, used for the history screens and for caller recognition.
- Blocked and reported numbers. Kept alongside a device identifier so your filters survive between sessions.
- Technical data. Handset model, Android version, App version, language, device identifiers, anonymous feature-use counts, crash traces and performance logs.
Contacts and call records are processed on the handset itself. We do not sell either one, and we pass neither to anybody outside the providers listed further down.
2. Permissions and What They Are For
- Contacts (read and write) — displaying, adding, editing and sorting your contact list.
- Phone (CALL_PHONE, READ_PHONE_STATE) — starting calls and noticing when one is under way.
- Call Log — assembling the call history and recent-call views.
- Notifications — letting you know about incoming and blocked calls.
Nothing is requested ahead of the feature that needs it. Any permission can be taken back in Android settings; the feature relying on it then pauses until you allow it again.
3. Purposes of Processing
Data is used to run contact management, dialling, call history, caller recognition and blocking; to keep the spam filter effective; to hold the App stable and repair faults; to gauge overall usage so the App can improve; to serve advertising on the free tier; and to switch on and restore subscriptions. Personal information is never sold or rented.
4. Advertising
Where no subscription is running, adverts arrive through outside networks, Google AdMob among them. Those networks may read the handset advertising identifier and similar technical signals so as to pick an advert, personalised where the law of your country permits. Android settings let you reset or clear that identifier and switch personalisation off whenever you like. For as long as a subscription is active the App carries no advertising.
Google sets out its own advertising data practices at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
5. Subscriptions and Payment Details
A subscription is optional; it clears the adverts and opens the premium functions. Payment runs entirely through Google Play billing. Card numbers, billing addresses and the like are taken and stored by Google under Google's privacy policy and never arrive with us. All we get is an anonymous purchase token, used only to enable the subscription and to bring it back after a reinstall or a change of handset. Purchase records are held no longer than tax and accounting rules demand.
6. Outside Services in the App
The App builds on Google Play Services; Firebase for analytics and crash reporting; Google AdMob for advertising; and Google Play billing for subscription payments. Each has a privacy policy of its own and we suggest you read them. Those providers, not we, decide how they handle data.
7. Security
Sensible technical and organisational safeguards protect the information the App handles. That said, no electronic storage or transmission is ever perfectly secure, so absolute security cannot be promised.
8. What You Can Control
Whenever you wish you may allow or revoke permissions in Android settings, change or remove contacts, wipe the call history, lift a block, switch off advert personalisation, or uninstall the App — which clears the data it kept on the handset.
9. Children
The App is not meant for anyone under 13, or under 16 where local law sets that bar, and we do not knowingly gather personal information from children. Anything of that sort reaching us in error is deleted once spotted. A subscription started by a minor holds good only where a parent or guardian agreed beforehand; switching on purchase authentication in Google Play stops charges completing on a child's handset without an adult saying yes. Parents and guardians with a worry are welcome to write to the address below.
10. Rights Under Regional Law
People in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland may access, correct, erase and restrict the use of their personal data, withdraw consent, and complain to a Data Protection Authority. Residents of a number of United States jurisdictions hold similar rights, including opting out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising. A message to the address below is enough to exercise any of them.
11. Erasing Data
No account is needed to use the App. Contacts, call history and block lists live on the handset and disappear when you delete them in the App or uninstall it. If you want anything held by us erased, write in and we will deal with it within a reasonable time.
12. Revisions
This policy may be revised now and then. Whatever appears on this page, with its effective date, is always the version in force, and using the App after a revision counts as accepting it.
